Fees / rebates

Scheduled Fees. Psychologists at Mullum Road Clinic are members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). They are also registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Medicare Australia. Medicare Autism Providers and FaHCSIA Funding is available with some of our psychologists.

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

Mullum Road Psychologists provide services under the NDIS (for clients with self managed plans). 

Medicare provided rebates

The rebate makes accessing a Psychologist more affordable by offering a rebate to eligible clients for up to 10 (6 plus 4) individual sessions per calendar year.

  • Mental Health Treatment Plan / 10 Sessions (6 + 4).

A referral from your doctor is needed to be able to obtain the Medicare Rebate.

Also recommended for the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) family and client.

Helping Children With Autism Access Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

Clients seeking an Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) assessment for a child or young person should first request the paediatrician refer them for an assessment or treatment.

  • Diagnostic Assessment Services / 4 Sessions.

This is for children under 13 years of age, diagnosed with the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Persuasive Developmental Disorder (PDD).

  • Treatment Services / 20 Sessions

This is for children under 15 years of age (providing a treatment & management plan is in place before their 13th birthday), with a confirmed diagnosis of the Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) / PDD.

These are a total number of services available to the client (not within the one calendar year).

FaHCSIA funding

The Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community services and Indigenous Affairs Funding (FaHCSIA) is for early intervention services.

  • Helping Children With Autism Package (HCWA)

This is for children 0-6 years, for the diagnosis and treatment of Autism, including Aspergers, Persuasive Developmental Disorder (PDD-NOS) and Childhood Disintergrative Disorder (CDD).

Eligible clients may be able to claim a total of $12,000(up to $6,000 per calendar year) until their 7th birthday. Clients will be helped with information on how to apply.

  • Better Start For Children With Disability Initiative

This is for children 0-6 years diagnosed with Down syndrome, Celebral Palsy, Fragile X, moderate or greater vision or hearing impairment, including deafblindness, Prader Willi syndrome, Williams syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Kabuki syndrome, Smith-Magenis syndrome, CHARGE syndrome, Cornelia de Lange syndrome, 'Cri du Chat Syndrome, Microcephaly Disorder and Rett's Disorder(previously claimed on the HCWA).

Eligible clients may be able to claim a total of $12,000(up to $6,000 per calendar year) until their 7th birthday.

Additional assistance may be able to be claimed for eligible children who live in outer regional, rural or remote locations, to help with the cost of accessing services.

Private Health Insurance Companies (most)

Most Private Health Insurers offer rebates on psychological services. You can call your health care provider for more details. You may be able to use private health cover to assist with additional sessions (if applying for another ten sessions, after the first calendar year).

Work Cover, TAC and Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) are also Welcome.
