Bachelor of Health Science (BHS), Masters of Occupational Therapy Practice (MOTP)

Alysha is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA). Alysha can provide services to clients who have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan through Medicare and to those who are NDIS plan managed or self managed. Alysha began working as an Occupational Therapist in 2013, after graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Occupational Therapy from La Trobe University.

Alysha has predominantly worked in schools for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, providing consultation to teaching staff on how to best support students to thrive in the school environment. Alysha has also worked in private practice and community health, providing support to children and their families. Alysha is passionate about supporting clients to develop self-regulation skills in order for them to feel calm, yet alert in daily life. She also delights in supporting children to develop imaginative play skills. Alysha often uses Video Self Modelling as a tool to support clients to reach their potential when learning new skills or behaviours.

Alysha works alongside Violet the therapy dog, who is a young, black Labrador. Violet is a released Seeing Eye Dog, whose love for other dogs and people meant that she couldn’t continue her training there. These traits however, are exactly what make her a great therapy dog. Violet loves to lie on your feet and receive cuddles and pats. 

Alysha has also ridden horses her whole life and anticipates completing training in Equine Assisted Therapy in the future.
