Prior workplaces and experiences

I started my early career as a psychologist working in an early childhood intervention service. This role encompassed offering a family centred approach to support children with additional needs. Close working relationships with kindergartens and schools was also required to educate them on the needs of the children.

My next role was as a family violence counsellor and involved working to support therapeutically children, adolescents and women who had experienced family violence.

Before commencing in private practice, I also worked in a Community Health organisation offering counselling for children and families. Group programs were also offered and included: anxiety strategies for children, family yoga, children’s yoga and a trauma aware playgroup for families that have experienced family violence. Jackie has recently presented at peer conferences on the programs that she assisted to develop.

Jackie is also experienced in providing formal autism diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents.
