Joanna is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a provider of Psychological services through Medicare Australia. Joanna is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS).

Joanna has experience with working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. Drawing upon an empathic, client-centered approach, Joanna recognises the importance of working collaboratively to achieve a client’s goals. Joanna is able to assess, diagnose and treat clients who present with mental health issues. Joanna works from an evidence- based practice, which may include a Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach. Joanna is also an animal assisted therapist and her Australian Shepherd (Zailey) can join sessions from July 2019 post Zailey's AAT training. Zailey will work with you to provide a sense of comfort and calmness during consultations.

Additionally, Joanna has a strong interest in working with young children and adolescents with an array of mental health issues and developmental disorders.

Joanna feels passionate about continued learning and has attended the following professional developments: An Introductory Workshop in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Personality Disorders: Therapy Foundations and Familial Support; Suicide Awareness and Risk Assessment (to name a few), and will continue to add to this collection.
