Karen Fisher is a registered psychologist who holds a Master of Professional Psychology and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Karen decided to pursue a career in psychology due to a strong interest in human behaviour and helping individuals improve mental health and wellbeing. Karen has had extensive experience working in the health industry and draws on this experience in her practice as a psychologist. She has a fascination with the connection between mind and body and how our emotional state effects our physical wellbeing.
Karen has an empathic, non - judgemental therapeutic style in which she encourages feedback and collaboration from her clients. Karen works predominantly within a Cognitive/Cognitive Behavioural framework, however, incorporates other evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Strengths based therapy. Karen is passionate about assisting individuals manage a range of mental health conditions. She has a special interest in anxiety disorders as well as health related issues such as chronic illness and chronic pain.
