Larney is a registered psychologist who has completed her Masters of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University. She works with clients across the life-span including, children, adolescents and adults. When working with families with young children, Larney takes a family-centred approach to help children and families meet their personal goals.
In her approach Larney utilises evidence-based therapies, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She takes a values-based approach with her clients and goals are client-centred. Further, she has experience in assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Functional Behaviour Assessments and other educational, behaviour and cognitive concerns.
Larney has eight years’ experience working across the life-span with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families. Specifically, she has experience in supervising behavioural therapy programs, behaviour management, classroom supports, interventions for pre-teens/adolescents/adults and delivering interventions through play for younger children. Additionally, Larney has experience working with non-verbal children. Larney also has experience supporting individuals across the life-span with anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation difficulties, depression and more.
My name is Mako and I am an 8 week old Groodle. I am currently in training as a therapy dog and I will be joining my mum, Larney (Psychologist), at Mullum Clinic Eltham in 2021. I am full of love and energy, and I can't wait to meet all of my new friends.
