B. Speech Pathology, B. Medical Science

Natassha is a certified practicing speech language pathologist, member of Speech Pathology Australia, and a medicare and FaHCSIA  funding provider for speech pathology services for children (0 to 12yrs).

She is an experienced paediatric speech language pathologist, passionate about empowering families and children to maximise their communication and learning potential. She started her career working as a speech language  pathologist in Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) and in later years  under the NDIS,  providing a range of assessment and interventions for children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, down syndrome, genetic and chromosomal syndromes, childhood apraxia of speech, fussy and problem eaters, ADHD and complex and severe communication and social needs.

In recent years she has developed a great deal of experience and passion working in the community health sector providing comprehensive speech language pathology services for children from toddlers, early childhood and preschool age children including in the areas of; late talking, tongue tie, receptive and expressive language difficulties, grammar, lateral and interdental lisps, mild to severe speech difficulties, phonological processes, stuttering, phonological awareness and pre-literacy skills, play skills and pragmatic/social use of language.

Natassha has  completed specialist training in Hanen More than words, Social Thinking, Autism Assessment and Intervention (Rhea Paul), PROMPT, Learn to Play (Karen Stagnetti),  Playing with Children with Autism (Karen Stagnetti), Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devises (AAC), Lidcome Stuttering Therapy, Dynamic Assessment and working with bilingual children, Children with Dyspraxia and Dysarthria (Pam Marshashala) and is due to attend the Literacy Prevention and Intervention training with Dr Tanya Serry this coming September, 2017.

In addition to her discipline specific training she has been fortunate to have participated in training that compliments her work with families including: Strength Based training, Rainbow Kids Yoga, Parents Building Positive Solutions and Parent Child Mother Goose. Natassha has always valued her experience working as a member of a broader Child, Family and Counselling team working from a holistic approach for the whole family.

Natassha is an advocate for parent training and empowering families to provide home based therapy and intervention to maximise their child’s potential long after their speech therapy services have ended. She understands that accessing private speech therapy can be an expensive venture and so she endeavours to equip parents with all the necessary skills to support their children throughout their development and learning years.
