Meet Zailey, the Australian Shepherd, therapy doggy.
Zailey is 2 and a half years old and was born in Tasmania. At the age of 10 weeks, she boarded her first flight (I’m not sure who was more nervous, Zailey or us for her first flight) and came to Melbourne to her forever home. Zailey became a therapy dog in June 2019.

Some fun facts about Zailey:

What’s Zailey’s favourite game?
Anything ball related. Football, tennis balls, or basically anything that can be thrown including cushions.

What’s Zailey’s favourite thing to do together?
Definitely coming to work & being around people and getting all the pats and cuddles possible.

What is Zailey’s bad habit?
She has learnt to lay upside down to get your attention when your attention is elsewhere. She will also ‘talk’ when she thinks it’s ‘toy-time’. She’s also become a professional observer when you’re eating.

What is the best thing about Zailey?
She’s a fast learner, adores people and she seems to have a strong sense for detecting us humans emotions.

What is the naughtiest thing Zailey has ever done?
When she was a puppy, she very cheekily got into the pantry and ate all the chocolate pennies. Now who wants chocolate every time there is any...

What is the hardest thing about being a pet owner?
Seeing her unwell; leaving her for holidays; and knowing one day, heaven will take her.

What is the most rewarding thing about being a pet owner?
There isn’t just 1 thing but overall seeing her happiness every single day and her evolve into such a caring, gentle girl in the clinic.

Zailey is a therapy dog and joins Joanna Umney at both Mullum Road Ringwood and Croydon clinic.
